Aikido for Adults
All students are expected to be familiar with and adhere strictly to the dojo's Code of Etiquette.All levels and all ages 15 and up are welcome. Students can attend five classes per week. We encourage a regular training schedule that includes at least three classes per week. Beginners can choose to attend the Aikido Beginners Course prior to joining general classes. In a typical class, the instructor may break the class into groups of students of similar levels and guide each group according to its pace. Classes are supplemented by seminars taught by Sensei or guest teachers during the year. Aikido for Children The program is designed for children from 8 - 14 years old; however, other children may be admitted upon skill evaluation. Children's classes are help Monday and Wednesday 6-7pm. As students mature and learn basic skills, they will be invited to additional advanced practices on Fridays 6-7pm. Aikido for Teens The program is designed for teenagers from 14 to 18 years old; however, other children may be admitted upon skill evaluation. Teen students can attend three General classes per week. Deshi (Apprentice) This program is designed for serious students who want to commit to an intensive training regimen. Deshi are expected to attend all Aikido and Tai Chi classes. For more detail see Deshi Program. Aikido Beginners Course Prospective Aikido students are welcome to try out two Basic Classes at no cost during the first week of every month. Basic Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:00 - 6:50 PM. Wear loose clothing. Complete an application form and bring to the first session.. Tai Chi The Tai Chi Program includes three components: Wu Tai Chi forms (Short Form and Long Form); Chi Kung, and Push-Hands. We recommend that students attend both weekly classes and participate in all three seminars during the year. Open Mat times are supervised mat times in which students can do their own training.
